For September 2022 we are looking to appoint a well-qualified and skilled teacher of History to become a committed member of our successful department. The ability to teach RE/PSHE/another Humanities subject would be advantageous. Please could you highlight this in your application.

We are at an exciting stage of our development and this is a great opportunity to make a strong contribution to the life of the school. Our core purpose is to be an inclusive, happy community that values every individual and inspires them to achieve their full potential.

We wish to appoint a talented colleague who:

  • Is motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to inspire students of all ages and abilities.
  • Has excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and is committed to working as a member of a team to continually improve the education we provide
  • Can demonstrate real commitment to high quality teaching and learning, with a proven track record of delivering excellent lessons
  • Is willing to contribute fully to the life of the school and who is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

In turn we offer a supportive working environment with excellent CPD and development opportunities. Highfields are proud to be a part of East Midlands Education Trust (EMET), a partnership of schools whose mission is to raise the educational standards and improve the life chances of all the children within our organisation.  EMET comprises high performing schools who represent the full age range of 3-19, along with an alternative education provider, and the trust places great emphasis on collaborative working within a family of schools approach. Our schools enjoy a high degree of ‘aligned autonomy’ whilst, at the same time, being supported by a central trust team who help support the highest quality of provision possible.

A job description and person specification with further information about the role can be downloaded below. An application form can be downloaded by clicking 'Apply Online' above. Applications must be made on an EMET application form. CVs will not be accepted. No agencies.

On the application form, please focus on a detailed 'supporting statement' taking into account the person specification and indicating why you would be the best person for us to recruit to this position.

Please send completed applications forms to recruitment@emet.uk.com

The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post, will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK. The School looks to employ well-qualified staff who are willing to contribute to the full life of the school and who are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Safeguarding checks will be undertaken during the recruitment process.

We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or religion.

Closing date for applications: Midday on Wednesday 18th May
