Cover Administrator / School Business Assistant

37 hours per week, term-time only

Scale 3: £20,043 - £20,852 pro-rata (Actual Salary: £17,086 - £17,776)

Highfields School are seeking to appoint an organised and adaptable administrator to support the school in providing appropriate cover arrangements for classes as a result of absences planned and unplanned. The role will involve coordinating cover supervision for classes and carrying out a range of specific administration duties.

This exciting role will offer a great deal of variety and opportunity to develop and enhance your skills, we offer excellent training opportunities as well as a friendly and supportive working environment. The ability to work as part of a team is essential, as are excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, a sound knowledge of IT and the ability to work confidently under pressure.

You will be confident liaising with staff and will be friendly and approachable as well as professional at all times. The post holder should be willing to work flexibly across a range of functions. Maintaining confidentiality at all times will be essential.  

Highfields is a vibrant, popular school set across two sites and has a strong partnership with the community and local schools.  It is a co-educational comprehensive school of almost 1300 students, including 200 at post 16.   Our students are well-motivated and the school’s academic results are good and improving. 

Highfields is situated in Matlock, the county town of Derbyshire, on the south eastern edge of the Peak District.   It is within easy reach of Sheffield, Derby and Nottingham.
