Kimberley School is an exciting place to work.   Our aim is for every child to achieve or surpass their academic and social potential and we achieve this through providing an outstanding quality of education, underpinned by a strong programme of care, guidance, support and enrichment.

You will be joining an exciting team of professionals who focus relentlessly on ensuring that students enjoy Design Technology and make outstanding progress. You will be part of a team who have driven significant improvements in students’ progress and are well-placed to go from strength to strength from many years to come.  This will be an opportunity for you to join our outstanding, high performing, Design Technology Team and learn from the very best.

At Key Stage 3 students study Textiles, Graphics, Food and Resistant Materials.  Students can opt to study GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition, GCSE Graphics, GCSE Textiles and GCSE Resistant Materials.  The number of students studying a GCSE in Design Technology is significantly higher than national averages.  At A-level students can choose to take 3D Product Design and the WJEC Level 3 Diploma in Food Science and Nutrition. The department enjoys its own centre and specialist teaching facilities.  The hyperlinks will take you to more information about these areas on our school website.  You will find a full overview of the school curriculum on our website.

We are looking for someone who can teach all aspects of Design Technology at Key Stage 3.  You will also teach GCSE Design Technology, specifically Resistant Materials and Graphics.  Applications from candidates who are also able to teach A-Level Product Design would be welcomed. This post is suitable for experienced candidates who are looking to work with an outstanding team; or for Newly Qualified Teachers.    As a lead partner in the East Midlands Teacher Training Partnership, and an early adopter of the Early Career Framework, we are well-placed to support teachers at the start of their career.

If you have a passion for teaching Design Technology, then we want to hear from you.  As part of East Midlands Education Trust there will also be the opportunity for you to learn from the very best and prepare you for the next stage of your career.
